Noosa Heads

The well known resort town of Noosa Heads is situated on the edge of Noosa NP and Laguna Bay. Not only does it offer beaches and safe swimming year-round, it is also the gateway to the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy NP, including the stunning Noosa River Everglades.

Main attractions: Hastings St. the main street of Noosa Heads, has restaurants, cafes, galleries and boutiques. Main Beach offers safe swimming and is the most popular beach for families. Noosa NP is only a short walk from Hastings St. This extremely popular 477ha park provides walking tracks through rainforest, past small coves, rugged coastal rock formations and interesting costal heathlands.

Nearby attractions: Great Sandy NP is 14km north, although Noosa River separates is from Noosa Heads, it can be accessed via car ferry from Tewantin. The multi-coloured sand cliffs, known as the coloured sands, are located in this park. Activities include bush-walking, camel-riding, horse-riding and beach fishing. Tours to the Everglades, coloured sands and Fraser Island are very popular. Noosaville is a family-style resort town, located 5km west. The Noosa River is filled with dinghies, catamarans and houseboats, and has picnic areas and beaches with safe swimming for children.
